Depending on your workflow, STACK offers multiple ways to collaborate with internal and external teams.

How to collaborate internally, on a multi-user account

  • Use markup tools to leave notes on any plan sheet for another user to see.
  • Uploading a blank word document to your Supporting Documents is also a great way to keep notes.

How to use “Share” to collaborate externally, with users not on your account

Using “Share” gives access to read-only versions of your plans, takeoffs, and reports.

  1. First, organize your project documents and takeoff data using folders and label groups
  2. Click the “Share” button in the upper right corner of your screen which will display a new, share options pop-up
  3. Click the Project Sharing toggle to generate a shareable link, associated with the respective project.
  4. This static link can be copy and pasted into any text field (such as an email).
  5. To disable sharing, simply click the sharing toggle to turn access off.

*Once the recipient(s) click the link, they will be directed to the registration page. They can either log in or create a Free Account. After login, the link will take them directly into the project.

How to use “Invite” to collaborate externally, with users not on your account

Using “Invite” gives edit access to blank versions of your plans. Invited users can perform their own takeoffs as well as create estimates and proposals.

  1. First, organize your project documents and takeoff data using folders and label groups (Invite recipients cannot perform these actions unless they download the project files and upload them directly to their STACK account).
  2. Clicking the “Invite” button in the upper right corner of your screen which will display a new, invite options pop-up
  3. Click the Takeoff Invitation toggle to generate a shareable link and message, associated with the respective project.
  4. This static link and message can be copy and pasted into any text field (such as an email or ITB platform).
  5. To disable future invitations, simply click the invite toggle to turn access off to anyone that hasn’t already opened the project.

*Once the recipient(s) click the link, they will be directed to the registration page. They can either log in or create a Free Account. After login, the link will take them directly into the project.

Analyze data from project invitations

Once an “Invite” project link is opened by more than one recipient, you can access the data by clicking the download details link from the invite options window. This will download a CSV file with the following data for each user that has clicked the link:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Company
  • Email address
  • Trade
  • Trade specialty
  • Number of pages measured
  • Date first accessed
  • Date last accessed
  • If they downloaded the plans from STACK
