Account Owner

  • This user role gives full access for the account owner. This role is able to create and update assembly formulas, create and update items/costs, update/change billing information, create and update company labels and upgrade subscription levels. It's just what the title states: full ownership of the account.
  • This role gives the account owner the security of knowing that his or her assembly formulas and sensitive information in STACK are safe, and cannot be accessed or altered by other users in the company.
  • The account settings page, as shown below, is where these types of changes will be made. The account owner will also be able to click on the items and assemblies tab, whereas other users will see the options grayed out.

Estimator

  • This user role allows the user to view/create projects, perform takeoffs, make changes/markups, and access/edit reports (with cost data). The estimator can also add, edit, or delete items in the takeoff library.
  • This role is a good fit for senior estimators in the company. They have complete access to the takeoff/measuring tools of the software, and can attach items in assemblies to their measurements to get cost estimates. They can also control the takeoff libraries for uniformity from project to project. This permission prevents takeoff libraries from being overwhelmed with inconsistent and/or repetitive data.
  • This user role does not allow creation/editing of assemblies, creation/editing of items or access to account settings.
  • The following image shows the estimator's view when trying to update a takeoff from the takeoff library:

Takeoff Operator

  • This user role is similar to estimator, but without the ability to add to or edit the takeoff library. The takeoff operator can view/create projects, perform takeoffs, make changes/markups, and access/edit reports (with cost data).
  • This role works well for junior estimators, or those in the company who need the ability to make changes, such as markups or notes, to all projects. They can use takeoffs from the takeoff library, but you won't have to worry about them making any unwanted changes.
  • This user role does not allow creation/editing of assemblies, creation/editing of items, creation/editing of takeoff library entries or access to account settings.
  • The following image shows the takeoff operator's view when trying to access items and assemblies: Notice that they are grayed out.

Viewer

  • This user role allows the user to view projects and print reports.
  • This role is great for employees who work in the field, as well as any administrative roles that require access to data from reports.
  • This user role does not allow creation/editing of projects or takeoffs, creation/editing of assemblies, creation/editing of items, creation/editing of takeoff library, access to account settings or viewing cost data.
