How to add users to your account

Depending on your subscription level, an account owner can add, edit, and remove users on the account.

  1. Select the settings dropdown in the main navigation and click on the “Account Settings” menu item
  2. Select the “Company Users” tab from the left
  3. You can view your available user seats in the top section of the screen
  4. If you have an available seat, click the “Add User to Company” button
  5. Enter the first name, last name, and email address for the new user and assign them a user role
  6. Clicking the “Add User” button will send an account activation email to that user.
  7. You can find additional options using the ellipse (3 dots), next to the user role, that will allow you to resend the activation email, edit their information, deactivate the seat, or reset their password

How to deactivate or remove users on your account

  1. Select the settings dropdown in the main navigation and click on the “Account Settings” menu item
  2. Select the “Company Users” tab from the left
  3. Using the ellipse (3 dots), next to the user role, select “Deactivate” to disable their account credentials

Overview of account user roles

STACK offers different user roles that account owners can assign to control permissions

Account Owner (Full-access role)

  • This admin role has full access to all account features, including the ability to create and update assembly formulas as well as items and costs.
  • They can also update any account settings, including billing information, company labels, and upgrade the subscription term.

Estimator (Full-access role)

  • This role allows the user to view/create projects, perform takeoffs/markups, and access/edit reports (with cost data).
  • The estimator role can also add, edit, or delete items in the takeoff library and can attach items or assemblies to their takeoffs to get cost estimates.

*This user role does not allow the creation/editing of assemblies, items, or access to account settings.

Takeoff Operator (Full-access role)

  • This user role is similar to the estimator but without the ability to add to or edit the takeoff library.
  • The takeoff operator can view/create projects, perform takeoffs/markups, and access/edit reports (with cost data).

*This user role does not allow the creation/editing of assemblies, items, takeoff libraries, or access to account settings.

Viewer (Viewer role)

  • This limited access user role allows the user to view/search projects, takeoffs, and print reports (without cost data).

*This user role does not allow creation/editing of projects, takeoffs, assemblies, items, takeoff library, access to account settings, or cost data.
