As the construction industry continues to evolve, so does the technology that powers faster, more accurate, and more collaborative project workflows. This year, STACK delivered some of our most impactful innovations yet—features designed to streamline estimating, strengthen field-to-office communication, eliminate redundant work, and unlock the full potential of your project data.
From AI-driven enhancements to powerful new integrations and workflow improvements, each update reflects our commitment to helping teams build smarter and more efficiently. Below, we’re excited to highlight the top features of the year and how they’re transforming the way construction professionals work.
Estimate Without Drawings
You can enter Measured Quantities directly in your Estimate Worksheet without using the takeoff tools to actually measure anything in STACK.
Just add/create takeoffs in the project, then manually enter the Measured Quantity (Primary measurement) as well as any Secondary measurements for the takeoffs in the estimate.
The values you enter will be used as the inputs to any item coverage/productivity rates and item formulas in assemblies, so you can continue to use your existing items and assemblies (which use those formulas to convert the Measured Quantities into Purchase Quantities).
Item Group Rollouts
When you have an item that is associated with multiple Takeoffs, Plan Sheets, Assemblies, Item Groups, Tags, and/or Labels, you can Roll Up all the associated data so it is displayed as a single line item on your Estimate Worksheet or roll out the data so each association is displayed as an individual line item. (Roll Up is the default when you create an Estimate Worksheet.)
When you Roll Up the data, the associated line item cells are either summed (Measured Quantity and Extended Cost) or copied (Unit Cost and Waste %).
Sage Intacct Integration
Automatically import projects from Sage Intacct and send STACK estimates to Sage Intacct as project estimates. Streamline your workflow and improve financial accuracy with our seamless integration between STACK and Sage Intacct.
Acumatica Integration
Integrate your accounting and estimating seamlessly between STACK and Acumatica, offering teams instant access to important financial information anytime. Say goodbye to double-entry and empower accounting teams with one-click access to important budget information. With Acumatica integration, you can trust your financial data and empower accounting teams with peace of mind as they maintain full control over the data flowing into the system.
AI-Recommended Scale
STACK will now recommend standard scales identified by AI! No more searching for scales located in different places on different sheets; AI will find it, read it, and recommend it for you. You can still quickly check scale accuracy, change as needed, and then start measuring.
Classify by Discipline
For AI-Accelerated users, STACK can automatically identify and organize plan sheets by discipline (e.g., Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing). This helps quickly find the right sheets by trade and ensures your project plans are grouped in a consistent, professional structure.
Add Items & Assemblies to the Estimate
Items and Assemblies turn your Takeoff measurements and counts into very detailed estimate information to help you determine the total cost, labor, and quantity of materials needed for a job.
The Estimate Worksheet makes it easy to incorporate items and assemblies in your estimate workflow by allowing you to add and remove them to Takeoffs directly within the estimate. (No need to go back to the Takeoffs area of the app!)
STACK for Excel
STACK for Excel allows you to seamlessly bring live STACK project data, such as takeoff measurements and item quantities, directly into Microsoft Excel worksheets.
With STACK for Excel, you can automate report generation, unify estimating data with ERP/financial workflows, and eliminate manual exports, thereby streamlining proposal preparation and analysis without disrupting established Excel-based processes.
View Takeoff Data in the Field
Takeoffs and Annotations from STACK | Takeoff & Estimate can now be viewed seamlessly in STACK | Build & Operate, creating a stronger connection between estimating and construction workflows. The markups appear on dedicated, read-only layers that preserve the original STACK | Takeoff & Estimate styling — including colors, hatches, symbols, and line thickness — so teams can view accurate, visually consistent project information.
Users can easily filter what they see and tap any markup to view its associated layer or takeoff type. Supported items include common takeoff types such as Area, Linear, Surface, and Volume, along with annotations like Highlight, Cloud, Dimension Line, Callout, Text Box, and Legend.
These layers serve as fixed, shareable snapshots of the original estimate, while teams can still create their own editable layers to capture updates or field notes as the project progresses.
STACK Assist
Unlock the content of your documents with STACK Assist! Turn to STACK Assist when you need answers or clarity in relation to a project. With the artificial intelligence of STACK Assist, you can ask questions about your plans to help you drill down to the details that matter.
